Purgatory Creek Natural Area
Purgatory Creek Natural Area in San Marcos is a wonderful place to visit. Not too challenging of a hike and your dog will love it. Scenic ash juniper groves, grassland meadows, wetlands, and oak trees are just some of the sights you’ll see. Visit Purgatory Creek at 2102 Hunter Road and look for the large grotto that years of rushing waters have carved into the limestone cliff.
Stokes Park
Stokes Park is a beautiful quiet area along the San Marcos River. It’s a dog and family-friendly park offering nice light walking on enjoyable easy trails. Railyard Bar and Grill
Take your dear doggie out for lunch. The vibe is easy and casual at Railyard Bar and Grill with a dog-friendly patio, great food and service, music, and big TVs. Have a burger and a beer, play horseshoes, and meet friendly dogs and people at the Railyard. 116 S Edward Gary Street in San Marcos.
